FAMILY PORTRAITS

‘Family Portraits’ is – as the title already reveals– the most personal compilation in Bijnens' oeuvre. In this contemporary series of works, Bijnens connects traditions of different cultures by working and processing animals skins and natural materials with her own view of family and relationships and, in particular, the position of the woman, the daughter, the mother and the wife.
