IN TO THE WOODS

Into the Woods' consists of an expanding series of sculptures and assemblages in wood. Bijnens has a strong preference for the material she used for decades in her interior assignments. Today she combines her extensive material-technical knowledge of wood and woodworking with her mission to restore seemingly worthless materials.

This poetic exercise results in contemporary assemblages and sculptures with exciting proportions and special textures. Very often the result reminds her of architectural structures she has seen on her travels abroad.
